Why we built Plattr

The short version: most food businesses are quietly bleeding in two places at once, a 15–30% cut to the delivery apps on every order, and hours each week wrestling six disconnected tools that don’t talk to each other. The problem we kept seeing

Talk to almost any café, restaurant or food-truck owner and you hear the same thing. Orders arrive from a website, a couple of delivery apps, the counter and the phone, and each one lives in its own system. The marketplaces take a brutal slice and never hand back the customer. Then at the end of the week, working out what actually happened means stitching together exports from tools that were never meant to fit together.

None of that is the food. The food is the easy part. The hard part is everything around it, and the software was making it harder, not easier.
